The month of the protests in Venezuela with very little diffusion of the media
In September, 983 protests were recorded for different reasons in the country, according to the Venezuelan Observatory of Social Conflict (OVCS).
The report released indicates that the five entities where there were more protests were the Capital District, Lara and Táchira, Bolívar and Anzoátegui.
)"This figure represents an increase of 394% compared to September 2017, when 199 protests were documented," says the OVCS report.
The collapse of basic services was one of the main reasons for the protests in September, since there were at least 9 daily demonstrations for a total of 272.
In addition, the report highlights that the actions of health workers prompted protests in other sectors such as education, electrical, telecommunications, iron and steel, to account for a total of 149.
Personal Opinion
It is clear that the informational fence that exists around all these protests little spread by Venezuelan media, is due to the application of the misnamed Ley Resorte, which forbids any information that may incite violence or simultaneous protests. , that by means of these diffusions of these problems that are lived in the country a chain reaction of these protests can be generated. Fear seizes the owners of media chains that avoid these news events to avoid sudden closures or prison sentences for expressing the feeling of Venezuelans.
