Quite plausible scenario, unfortunately. We've had plenty of panic-drills over the past decades and they worked quite well, people wearing masks in public, stockpilling on drugs (remember Tamiflu), lining up to get shots. I don't see anyone objecting to martial law or anything. The worst case scenario is one of the idiots playing with viruses making a fatal mistake... and then we're toast. Great post!
