Gravity, it is compressed (tamped) and dries in place. These walls are strong enough to support roof beams for a building.

well they should be stronger than that if they can be kept in place. Plus being good insulation and sound barrier I imagine. and pretty much bullet proof like you said.
Two pieces of Barbed wire are placed between bags, so they will not slip. Rebar can be driven through the bags for added support, but the tamping is the real strength.
