So I noticed that I had a comment on my new post, but I can't see it!
So I opened it up in a private window to see if that changed it and it did. I don't have @sweecee muted so why can't I see his comment? His comment wasn't downvoted either...
Turns out there is a blacklist by BuildAWhale and @sweecee comments are automatically not showing for me. Why is this? Can I change this somewhere?
I had to open this up in a private window to see your comment. Then I realized I can get around this by following you so I can see all your content.
Once I followed you I was able to see your stuff.
So it looks like your getting censored by BuildAWhale even on Hive platform? Not sure whats up with this... I know Hive forked off Steem and that Steem had some kind of weird system that was putting red warnings next to users names, but I didn't think it was censoring them too...
I wonder if it is a bug or a feature. I don't think all the kinks are out of the system yet, even if it is somewhat operational for many things.
@themarkymark
I can see him. So, I don't understand.
Talking with Ausbitbank he said it is a feature. Some kind of blacklist that is maintained and uses an API.
What I don't understand is why I can't see comments form people with the "red (1)" but others can.
Does this mean I am on a blacklist or something? Do you see a red (1) next to my name?
i see no red by your name. @ausbitbank
I do not follow him but I can see him.
I was seeing this from time to time on Steem for a month or two before we moved. There are some very sketchy censors claiming to oppose censorship deeply linked to the oligarchy controlling Steem/Hive governance.
I hadn't made the connection to @buildawhale, and very much appreciate your insight. that is critical to understanding the connections underlying this censorship mechanism, and may facilitate further elucidation of features of the mechanism. I note the blacklist API has just been ported to Hive, and suddenly this censorship is appearing. Not a coincidence. I'd bet all my liquid Steem the blacklist API is the cause.
Thanks!
wow I couldn't see your comment either wtf is going on here? I had to go to my replies and do it that way. Your comment doesn't show up on my post when viewing the post...
