The one pictured is an older miner, the Bitmain Antminer L3+. It's making about $1 a day, not counting electricity, just on DOGE, but it also merge mines LTC and others that mine scrypt. I just focus on DOGE and LTC. I bought a different miner though that is way more efficient on power as I am going to be running it on a solar setup.
Yeah, without spending money on electricity, I will be making around $2 a day on the miner. I am ordering a big enough battery that should be able to handle it. If not, I'll do an automatic transfer switch in the future.
Yeah, most older cards aren't making much these days. I think both my 580 and 480 calculated to earn a combined .40 a day on Ravencoin... So these DOGE miners are really the way to go for a small setup these days.
Also, as long as I am breaking even on the power costs, then I am still hitting my goal of trading electricity for crypto. It's not all about profits. I would rather earn my coins than buy them from a centralized exchange.
Yeah, that's why I am building the solar system. The grid is expensive where I am too. I'll have to run a few hours a day on the grid, but maybe not too much if I get the big ass batteries I am looking at and expand to more panels and go to 24V in the future.

$1 a day is much better than a 4GB gfx setup, I think it would consume around 50-100watt.

Electricity costs a lot in there, almost half the profit + equipment costs additional.
Yep, the difficulty level has been increased so far, and making a good profit is an old day story.

Sorry for a late response kinda super busy in website building these days.
Yes, earning is more fun then buying and waiting for prices to lift up. I used to mine a coin on my gaming pc, but left doing so after joining Hive.
no problem! I still tinker with some sites myself, just not in any real way. Got tired of pleasing unpleasable people.
