At the recent "Hive Summit Aachen" that @detlev organised in his home town during the Summer, @soniabr and myself presented "Innopay", an OffChain Luxembourg asbl initiative leveraging @spendhbd and @distriator to showcase the power of Hive and its super-duper ZERO FEE, fully decentralized stablecoin, HBD.
I have repeated the performance on the stage of the recent @hivefest 10 in Kuala Lumpur, and I think I've improved on it somewhat. I'll let you be the judge by watching the segment.
Toward the end of the presentation I'm talking about the "Indie's" web app I developed. I believe this is the first post I'm doing about it on Hive, although if you browse and subscribe to the @ocln-content blog (our OffChain Luxembourg "social media content" account) you'll find older posts about this app.

Customer page
Consider this web app an amateurish "working MVP" that is already generating decent demand for HBD (and thus for Hive). The "customer-facing" part is only "decent", without being up to the aesthetic standards of a commercial application. You can find it here. You'll notice that I've only added a few pictures, most dishes and drinks are not accompanied by pictures. I do not plan to make big changes to this part, only adding more pictures of dishes and drinks and perhaps improving the graphic aspect if a talented and enthusiastic graphic artist wants to collaborate with us.
Restaurant ("back-office") page
It is in the restaurant page, which you can see here, that I've recently made some aesthetic and functional additions:
- A minor one: I added the Innopay logo for branding
- I added one additional step in the order workflow for orders with food. Indeed the orders arrive at the drinks counter (where the owner's laptop is opened) and the drinks can be poured and taken to the customer table immediately. But the food orders need to be sent to the kitchen first, so I added a "send to kitchen" step for orders that also contain food). The "order fulfilled" button ("C'est parti !") is greyed out unless the dish order has been communicated to the kitchen staff.

- I've also added an "order history" button that allows the inspection of past orders that have been fulfilled, for cases where the waiter clicked on the blue "C'est parti !" button but then got interrupted and forgot to actually take the food and drinks to the table.

Disclaimer
Now to be fully transparent, I am a software architect, not a developer. I wouldn't have been able to do all this nearly as fast (if at all) without the help of AI. In the past I've used Grok and Gemini. I had experimented with Cursor and hated the way it entered and changed my code without much of a warning. During HiveFest in Kuala Lumpur I've asked @blocktrades for a recommendation and he recommended Claude Code, which I used for these improvements to my great satisfaction.
If you want to try and implement Innopay in your city or town, don't hesitate to get in touch with me. Kudos to @starkerz and @sagarkothari88 for Distriator, without who "paying with HBD" would be a lot less interesting for restaurant guests.

Thank you. It's looking amateurish but it works 😄
