I work in corporate world since last 4 years , I am learning many things on daily basis , like Sales , market fluctuation , competition m retail power and much more. Above all in this corporate world I learned that #innovation is the only tool to survive for the company. This is not a new thing, we are witness of kodak and Nokia in near past . But now the magnitude of of this #innovation is getting much more significant.

In FMCG world , Unilever and P&G ( Procter and Gamble ) are the main player , I am afraid that P&G may face great challenge in near future - because from long time P&G is relying on few SKUs in most of the countries like in Pakistan , still they have not launched Tide ( detergent ) - Just Ariel - apart from this as compare to Unilever, P&G is dependent on only Safeguard while Unilever is equipped with Lux, Dove and Lifebouy . In nutshell since long, P&G is depending on old SKUs to compete in the market - recently they have launched pampers and Always in sachet SKU ,-

Though in both diaper and feminine care category P&G has edge . Now this is the time in which they have to bring some #innovation in other categories and come up with new lineup as well.

This is not only public opinion or analysis from sales professionals but even shareholders are also demanding to come up with new ideas now - Its been so long now . Lets see when P&G will be able to bring more products to survive in the market and compete against Unilver , Recket or Colgate.

Happy readings !

Thanks,

Laghary.

Next to innovation also adaptation is very important for a FMCG company. Does not only counts for P&G and Unilever, see table below of the biggest food brands and their corporates. Choice is an illusion :)

Basically consumers are given with ample of choices - even within a company for the same category due to which cannibalization effect is happening :)

Well, this is definitely not my field. But I think you did a great job and it is great that you point out that it can be used predict future shareholder movements... And future inversion opportunities.

Meh, forget all these mega corps! Power to the little guys ;)
