I agree with you that this momentum speech of Chaplin is very relevant today. Inspired by totally something different, I watch this movie again yesterday. Such a great satire with such great messages we can still learn from. You may like the post (here) I wrote on it. It also includes the movie itself and the Globe scene which is hilarious but also gives the message how crazy this guy was.

It IS worth watching. I've seen the movie already several times; It is soo good, and knowing this movie was written before WW2; Chaplin had a good feel on what was going to happen. Also, I really like what Chaplin did, especially after WW2, fighting against the witch hunt the US government started to do; He got thrown out of the country for that in the end, well, he had to leave for his own safety. A true fighter against wrong doings and bad power and people!
