Interesting article! Testosterone and cortisol play a big role in this game, too much or too low of either and you're on either slope of the Gaussian's curve you draw. You can get most of the control with a combination of self-control, a healthy and balanced lifestyle, with the right amount of sleep and right eating habits. Introspection helps to understand what ticks you, activities that put you out of your comfort zone can help you hold control in extreme situations, keeping your life interesting and on the edge can help maintaining high interest, adrenaline in the right amount keeps you out of the boredom depression!
