Challenge 2 - Remeber your roots
Post a picture of your parent(s) or caregiver. Write the most important lesson you learned from them and the funniest moment you can remember. If they are still alive, send the link to them. If not, mention it and I will light a candle of remembrance for them if you want.
Why should we remember?
Our parents are our roots. We sprouted from them and grew into the beautiful beings that we are today. For some the relationship might be strained, for others, there might be no relationship. Do not let this stand in your way of seeing a valuable lesson.
My Mom
She was a mom at age 16 and she never saw her own beauty or her incredible mind. The most important lesson I learned from her: Always stay calm and take a deep breath. Your brain can't think if your screaming like a crazy person.
Once my mom complained that her hair is looking very dull. I then told her to wash it with dog shampoo as a practical joke. The thing is, I forgot about it and about 3 weeks later she phoned me and said the shampoo is not working. She has to wash her hair at least twice a day. I started laughing and she just knew...
She committed suicide in 2001. Her name is Ronel and she will forever be missed as a mother and as a friend.
