The first of many hellos

There is no good way to say hello to someone you don’t know; I think that’s why the word “Hello” sounds inherently sincere, because other wise we’d all be bastards abruptly talking at each other. Regardless, Hello my name is Aron Woldeslassie. I am a writer from Saint Paul, that works as a proofreader, blogger, comedian, and, hopefully soon, novelist.

I came to Steemit for the same reason I go to open mics, to share my best stuff and find out if it’s crap or not. I’ve been writing for a long time, just recently I’ve become a professional writer working for the comedy show, Minnesota Tonight!

There I’m the head writer for a segment called MN10. In it we tell jokes about social issues relevant to Minnesota. Issues can range from Police Brutality, Rural Internet Access, Water, and, just recently, Public Transportation. If you’re interested you can take a look at one of our videos.

I’m also a part of an animated podcast called That’s Sketchy. There I tell jokes, share stores, and talk with a group of friends as my animated self.

When I’m not performing or writing for others, I prefer to spend my time writing strange fiction. The stories, jokes, and ideas I have are generally dark and glib. I enjoy making people laugh before asking them to feel ambivalent in my writing. I also like breaking rules around grammar and language when asking open ended questions.

It was through the writing of my strange fiction that I was able to meet @zachnewell and @mada. The two of them enjoyed my work and suggested that I share it on Steemit in order to see how the world might react to my writing. They presented Steemit as both a proving ground and an accepting place for people all over to meet and share. I hope to see a great deal of works from all of you, as well as hear the feedback any of you may give me.

Aron

@juvyjabian, I've already started posting and have seen noticeable gains! In a couple of days I'll post another story, any advice in terms of the post length?

Nah post length is not required but if you want the reader to enjoy, you should give all the information about the topic.

Welcome to Steemit, friend!
