Hola, comunidad de Hive!
Me llamo Christin Matos, tengo 20 años y soy originaria de Guantánamo, Cuba, aunque desde hace un año vivo en La Habana. Soy de un pueblo muy cálido y acogedor de Guantánamo, donde primero sale el sol en mi país. Es un bello lugar lleno de hermosos recuerdos e increíbles paisajes; allá las personas son muy cariñosas y todas son como familia. Si tienen la oportunidad de visitarlo un día, les recomiendo ir al increíble paisaje natural llamado El Pozo Azul, una impresionante obra de la naturaleza. Aquí les comparto unas fotos.
Este es el Faro, un lugar muy bonito de mi pueblo y un símbolo histórico y turístico del extremo oriental de la Isla , es conocido también como "La Concha"
Actualmente estudio en la Facultad de Lenguas Extranjeras, Flex,perteneciente a La Universidad de La Habana , UH, la carrera de Lengua Inglesa 🇬🇧 . Antes, estudié en el preuniversitario Pedro Agustín Pérez Pérez, donde participé en un concurso de literatura y alcancé resultados excelentes.
Desde pequeña, me sentí atraída por la medicina, pero cuando empecé a leer más libros, descubrí que la literatura y la escritura eran lo que realmente me apasionaban. Me encanta leer porque me abre un mundo inmenso de ideas y me inspira a crear mis propias historias.
También soy muy buena en matemáticas y participé en varios concursos durante la secundaria, lo que reforzó mi disciplina y capacidad analítica. Además, tengo mucho interés en aprender inglés, aunque a veces las situaciones difíciles complican el camino, pero eso no me detiene.
Debo confesar que dejar de estudiar medicina me entristeció mucho porque no quería abandonar los estudios, pero dadas las circunstancias tuve que hacerlo. Sin embargo, mi familia me apoyó mucho para que estudiara lo que realmente me gusta. Luego de mucho esfuerzo y dedicación, me presenté nuevamente a las pruebas de ingreso y obtuve notas satisfactorias, logrando entrar en la carrera que estudio hoy. No me arrepiento de esta decisión, porque sé que todo esfuerzo vale la pena para poder ayudar y sacar adelante a mi familia en el futuro. Esta es mi familia.
Y esta es mi querida abuela
En casa vivimos mis padres, mis dos hermanos y mi abuela; somos una familia muy unida que me brinda apoyo constante, algo que valoro muchísimo. Mis hermanos son dos personas muy especiales: inteligentes, responsables y llenos de energía, lo que siempre me inspira a seguir adelante. Me encantan pasar el tiempo en casa con mi familia; somos muy divertidos y también disfrutamos mucho ver televisión juntos.
Mi lugar favorito es la playa , porque solía ir con mi familia cada verano, y esos momentos son recuerdos muy especiales para mí .Mascotas no tengo pero siempre he soñado con tener un perrito para cuidarlo y compartir momentos alegres.Disfruto mucho las pequeñas cosas, como comer helado o salir a pasear con mi familia.
Desde niña, la literatura ha sido una gran compañera. A los 5 años tuve la oportunidad de protagonizar a Pilar en la obra Los Zapaticos de Rosa, de José Martí, y también formé parte del coro con el mismo nombre, no tengo fotos de esto porque en aquel tiempo no teníamos celulares, pero esos bellos recuerdos los guardo en mi corazón .
Decidí unirme a esta plataforma porque una amiga @elys me habló muy bien de ella y me motivó a entrar. Quiero compartir con ustedes lo que más amo: escribir. Espero aprender mucho, crecer como persona y conectar con otros que disfrutan las letras tanto como yo.

Hello, Hive and Ecency community!
My name is Christin Matos, I’m 20 years old and I’m originally from Guantánamo, Cuba, although I’ve been living in Havana for a year. I’m from a very warm and welcoming town in Guantánamo called Maisí, where the sun rises first in my country. It’s a beautiful place full of wonderful memories and amazing landscapes; the people there are very helpful and everyone feels like family. If you ever have the chance to visit, I highly recommend going to the incredible natural landscape called El Pozo Azul, an impressive work of nature. Here I share a few pictures with you.
This is the Lighthouse, a very beautiful place in my town and a historic and tourist symbol of the easternmost point of the island. It’s also known as "La Concha".
And this is El Pozo Azul.
It has an impressive natural beauty, a little-known gem, ideal for hiking and nature watching.
I study English Language at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Flex mode, very eager to learn and grow. Previously, I studied at the Pedro Agustín Pérez Pérez pre-university school, where I participated in a literature contest and achieved excellent results.
Since I was little, I was attracted to medicine, but when I started reading more books, I discovered that literature and writing were what really passionated me. I love reading because it opens up an immense world of ideas and inspires me to create my own stories.
I’m also very good at math and took part in several contests during high school, which strengthened my discipline and analytical skills. Besides that, I’m very interested in learning English, although sometimes difficult situations complicate the path, but that doesn’t stop me.
I must confess that quitting medicine made me very sad because I didn’t want to give up my studies, but due to circumstances, I had to do so. However, my family supported me a lot to study what I truly love. After much effort and dedication, I took the entrance exams again and got satisfactory scores, managing to get into the program I study today. I don’t regret this decision because I know every effort is worth it to help and support my family in the future.

At home, I live with my parents, my two brothers, and my grandmother; we are a very close family that constantly supports me, something I value deeply. My brothers are very special people: intelligent, responsible, and full of energy, which always inspires me to keep going. I love spending time at home with my family; we are very fun and also enjoy watching TV together a lot.
My favorite place is the beach, because I used to go there every summer with my family, and those moments are very special memories for me. I don’t have pets, but I have always dreamed of having a puppy to care for and share joyful moments. I really enjoy the little things, like eating ice cream or going for walks with my family.
Since I was a child, literature has been a great companion. At 5 years old, I had the chance to play Pilar in the play Los Zapaticos de Rosa by José Martí, and I was also part of the choir with the same name. I don’t have photos of this because we didn’t have cell phones back then, but I keep those beautiful memories in my heart.
I decided to join this platform because a friend told me great things about it and motivated me to join. I want to share with you what I love most: writing. I hope to learn a lot, grow as a person, and connect with others who enjoy literature as much as I do.
