IntroduceMyself

This is a post that I should have written a long time ago. I have been on steem long enough.

I am a 27 year old father who just moved my family out to Ohio. I attended Brigham Young University where I got my BS in Statistics. I was then accepted into the MSPH program at the University of Utah. I am having a hard time getting my thesis finished. I was working as a teaching assistant and research assistant at the University, but my tenure for that has come to a close and with no more classes to take, my wife and I decided to get a job. I was able to find a job in Ohio as a Email Marketing Specialist. I start on Monday. I am excited and nervous, but I think that most people feel that way about their first big boy/girl job.

My wife was not happy that I have gone into thousands of dollars of student debt, to not do what I went to school to do. I am hoping that eventually I will be able to use my degrees, but I have recently been very disenchanted with the school system and the amount of money that public health graduates can make. It is much less than I thought when I started the program. So I have decided that for at least a little while I will pursue other paths.

I have always had a knack for computers, so throughout my time at University I worked in databases, web-development, and Sharepoint. That is in part why I was able to get the job as an email marketing specialist. For those that are interested in what an email marketing specialist does, basically we create the emails and landing sites for promotions run by companies.

Anyway, a long story short, life has been crazy, as I am beginning to think it always will be from here on out. I have a lovely wife and a 3 year old that we adore. He runs around like a crazy person half the day and the more tired he is the faster he runs. It is pretty fun. He fell twice today and scraped his knees. He got back up both times and after a few tears kept on going.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The church and my understanding of God and Jesus Christ has been an anchor for me through my life. I would not be who I am without that. I am open to answering questions if anyone has any. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Germany and really enjoyed getting to know the culture and the people as I discussed religion with them on a daily basis.

I plan on using Steem as a platform to continue to share things about my life including my hobbies.
