Hello steemites!
A forth night ago i was introduced into this wonderful community by my Boss in the crypto world, Mr Stash. Over this period, I've made a lot of friends, read a lot of interesting articles, and made quite a number of posts myself. The experience has been great and i thought it was time to properly introduce myself to fellow steemites...
My name is Sunny Ebinum, I'm the 6th in a family of seven. My late father was a retired Headmaster, my mum is a teacher and as is common to most Nigerian educationists, my parents were strict disciplinarians.
I'm from Obiaruku in Delta State, Nigeria, and I happen to also grow up there. Growing up in a rural community and watching the community become urban is an experience of a life time. The memories of how we use to wake up early in the morning to the sound of birds singing on tree tops, and having to walk about 3 KM down town to river Ethiope to fetch water, still lingers on. All that has changed though. Now it's more of waking up to the sound of cars and motorcycles (popularly called Okada here), rather than to the melodious tone of birds. In spite of the urbanisation, the community still retains much of it's costumes. The annual Ukwata festival for ushering in the new planting season is still very contemporary.

As a child I loved nature and that endeared me to the sciences in school. I studied Optometry in the University of Benin. As an intern optometrist, the experience has been wonderful caring for the visual needs of people. The Optometry profession puts me in a position to return smiles to the faces of people, and that is something I'm passionate about. The joy felt by an old woman who thought she was going blind because she could not read her favourite books anymore, only to have her vision corrected with a pair of spectacles can best be imagined.
Away from my profession, I like to travel. I love visiting new places, and trying out new foods, from time to time. I've been to 19 out of the 36 states of Nigeria, and in due course i will visit the rest states.
I love music, though I have very terrible dance steps. For a good music, i can have my ipod stuck on replay the whole day. Tuface Idibia is my favourite Nigerian artiste, his Grass to Grace album is ever green. Much respect also to the contemporary Nigerian artistes.
I also love reading and making researches. I just added gaming to my hobbies recently... I'm still trying to find my way through the various levels of FIFA 17 with much progress, but then I can't wait to play FIFA 18
I love cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is my favourite crypto cos i see Bitcoin as an ideology and not just a cryptocurrency, and i have come to love that ideology. So the fluctuations in the price of Bitcoin don't really bother me.
My steemit journey has gotten off to an interesting note already. As i continue here, i will be making posts on how we can care for our vision, I will also be posting on nature, motivation, novel discoveries, and sometimes wandering into events and politics.
