Worldwide,Suicide statistics has bee notching northwards
Geometrically and Consistently. This is a great Aberration* , no doubt. Disturbingly unusual is that the rate is notching higher in the acclaimed Developed World which parades best economic / development/social indices!!
If Suicide is a Verdict of absence of enthusiasm to live, Nations may need to review the uses of such indices as a COVER ALL measurements of Civilization and Economic advancement. After all, what are they without Life??
Could the foregoing scenario points to some hidden and unappreciated truths to the effect that Life consist more than mere dollars, pounds,bread and butter ?? Your thoughts in this regard is as good as ours. Yes!, there is more to Life than Omelettes and Pancakes. Life is beyond wild , uncontrolled excitements proceeding from excess indulgence in food and wine; possession of ostentatious objects; neither is it about being famous due to Socal and Political appellations.
WHY SUICIDE ??
Suiciders Worldwide tends to commit this heinous homicide for some intrinsic reasons; all arising from LOW or NO Self Esteem. Zero value is auto imputed into their existence, which arises from some or all of these:
HOPELESSNESS!!!
This is a slow but surreptitious Killer. It is a GLOOMY auto forecast of the Future to be abysmally worst that the the experienced Now.
LACK OF PURPOSE FOR LIVING.
The worth of Life is intrinsically tied to PURPOSE of Living!! *** Why is my Life***?? , What is my PLACE in this 80+ billion World Community ???. Just a meteor floating around, aimlessly at the mercy of the Wind??
No doubt , whenever there is no Definite Aim for Living, the people perishes, according to the Bible
DESPONDENCY
Confused state of INDECISION, therefore not willing to ACT on anything. It is usually, more of Psychotic issue than Social.
SOCIAL DISAPPROVAL AND ALIENATION.
Folks, often times, depends on the opinion of others for their perceived self worth. When this is not favourable, especially from sibblings , friends, social media and the mainstream media.

Amongst the foregoing causes of SUICIDE, LACK OF PURPOSE OF LIVING is the Anchor!! Whenever there is a Firm Purpose for Living , the other trip could be disregarded.
But what is PURPOSE?. Placing it in proper perspective, let's consider what Purpose is Not.

😃It is not ** given by a Personality or Institution**
😃It is not supposed to be a source of monetary income
😃It is not an ad-hoc phenomenon
😃IT IS NOT SELF DETERMINED
PURPOSE is therefore coded into the Biological and Psychological confirmation of every Living Being.It is imputed into every man/woman by ALL natural intelligence source.It is what some tagged " Hobby/Tallent.It is meant to serve others, not to gratify self It may not be rewarded by compulsion , but voluntarily
World's rudimentary economy, before the era of token money was communally based on this Noble phenomenon. Should we return to such to stave off the rate of unwarranted Suicides??
To us in Steemitville, we are there already. We are living in a Cosmopolitan City where Rewards are voluntary and based on ability and appreciation of the engaged ability rather than uniform cost / reward system.
CELEBRATE , CELEBRATE, CONTINUE TO JUBILATE !!!
To stave away thoughts of despodency ; which could herald Suicide attempt. The ANTIDODE is to be DROWNED in Pursuit of Purpose and indulge in wild Celebrations, as often as possible.

So how do you suppose those wealthy people on your photos should have taken their depression and searched for their purpose instead of committing suicide? Aren't they supposed to have reached out to anybody or anyone and sought for help instead of keeping things to themselves and eventually committing suicide?
How can we address this issue as a community if we do not know what they are going through? Yes, others may say we have to be sensitive enough to our environment and we should know if a person is depressed or not. Really? What are we, psychics? I am not.
Maybe it is beyond my brain's capacity but I do not understand why privileged people kill themselves without seeking for help.

The victims of suicide , methinks seldom channel their giftings to impact others , which would have given them satisfaction instead of depression.
As for reaching out to the depressed, we must show more LOVE to our neighbors and Perharps adopt a more communal cuture as opposed to exclusivity of most Western societies; a situation which accounts for more suicide rate in that part of the World.
Major reason for suicide is despodency due to lack of PURPOSE for Living ; which is a life of service FOR OTHERS.
Let us assume that the community we live in does not practice communal culture or spirit. Do you think that is enough reason to commit suicide? Blame the community that people are committing suicide because we in the community are not loving them back? I wonder, how did those people who commit suicide have loved their community before they ended their life?
It is given that human beings are never satisfied. We always want more. So even if we practice communal culture, how would we know that we are giving enough if that depressed person is not saying anything?
I totally agree that our society should care more for each other but I do not think it should be blamed for suicide of few people who are selfish enough to kill themselves instead of giving their life to the people to serve the purpose that you are referring to.
It was submitted that the SOCIETY and the VICTIMS are equally GUILTY in this matter!!
The SOCIETY , including the GOVERNMENT are because they collectively MOULD either directly or indirectly, by influence, the NUANCES of Individuals by Public Policies and Culturtural Ethos!
The VICTIM, because THEY chose to be INTROSPECTIVE about themselves, not GIVING THEMSELVES to the Service of Others!! This is most often expressed by Mearsuring their worth by SECOND/THIRD PARTY APPROVAL, which is the standard of the SOCIETY.
Example: In most Social Media networks, subscriber's ratings is indexed by FOLLOWERSHIP.
LOVE, when extended, will OVERLOOK ALL deficiencies of the VKCTIM and Serve Compassion and Benevolence to effect RESCUE and REHABILITATION. This explains why issues of this sort are Minimal in FAITH Active Communities.

Suicide is the last way out... a person needs to be in a really dark place to even think about it. And oddly enough, people with money in rich societies seem more prone to suicide than poor people living in a hut...

Good post on an important topic. I would, however, like to encourage that in the future you do a better job in sourcing your images - and also note that stock images are meant to be paid for - that's why they are watermarked the way they are. Pixabay is an excellent source for truly free images, but even those must be sourced - as I point out in this article.
You might also want to address your tags. "photography" is a tag reserved for original images, not ones that are sourced. "wafrica" and "venezuela" are contradictory tags - and "introduceyourself" is not meant for all your posts... I would suggest fixing this if you don't want someone to flag you for "tag spam"

Usually, location tags indicate where you are living, not where you hope to create discussion. With only 5 tags to use, accuracy is important.

Was brought here as you were featured in the Curation Contest. Wanted to take a couple minutes to hopefully help your growth. Hope you take these correctly as advice and not criticism.
First off don't use photos that aren't free to use, it's theft and has implications which can cause you and steemit issues down the road. If a photo has a watermark like your first photo it clearly is not allowed to be used. Look at pixabay.com for many free to use on Commercial Application photos....you are earning money so it needs to be free to use commercially.
Next the intro tags are to be used once to introduce yourself. Yes there are others that spam this tag, but there are also plenty of people who flag (downvote) people for doing this. So there is no reason to use it.
The Photo tags are for original photos, not stock images taken from the internet.
Wafrica tag is if you are from West Africa or talking about it, the Venezuela tag is for those who live there or are talking about there.
Really work on finding tags that are about your topic. If you can't then don't use 5 tags.

In some cultures, suicide was seen as a noble act as it was the ultimate choice made by the individual. Time has changed this view of course, as has the reasons many may choose, loneliness and disconnection often being high on the list.

I still don't get it why people choose suicide as the last way to leave this world, but after reading this.. some of it make senses. Even in our religion where suicide is forbidden, people still doing that to kill others. What a stupid choice but who am i to judge?
