Hello. I'm Alejandro Pentón Maldonado from Guayaquil, Ecuador. Since this is my first post on this social network, I’ll tell you that I’m 47 years old and have been living in Ecuador for 32 years. I previously lived in Cuba, where I spent my childhood and part of my adolescence. I studied Telecommunications Engineering and worked in that profession for 15 years in the private sector, specifically in the field of satellite communications—a very fascinating area. Thanks to that, I was able to visit many places both within and outside of Ecuador, installing dozens of earth stations in both large cities and remote locations.
After a period of very diverse experiences—and having made some good earnings—one day I started working on the technical side of an audiovisual production company. It only took a few months before I became part of the creative team, initially writing scripts and later doing voiceover and editing of image and sound. I've been working in that field for several years now.
Amidst all of that, a few days ago I received an invitation to this network from my friend @meno, whom I've known since my university days and with whom I share an interest in technology and music (especially the guitar). I met him through his brother, who was my classmate, and I've maintained a great friendship with both of them that has only grown stronger over time. We both believe in the power of technology to turn our ideas into real projects, so I decided to follow his advice and give this a try. Let’s see what comes of it...
Hola. Soy Alejandro Pentón Maldonado desde Guayaquil, Ecuador. Siendo esta mi primera publicación en esta red social les contaré que tengo 47 años y vivo en Ecuador desde hace 32 años. Previamente vivía en Cuba donde pasé mi niñez y parte de mi adolescencia. Estudié Ingeniería en Telecomunicaciones y ejercí esa profesión durante 15 años en el ámbito privado, específicamente en el área de las comunicaciones satelitales, un campo muy fascinante. Gracias a eso pude conocer muchos lugares dentro y fuera de Ecuador, instalando decenas de estaciones terrenas tanto en grandes ciudades como en sitios remotos.
Después de un tiempo de muy variadas experiencias -y habiendo cosechado buenas ganancias- un día, comencé a trabajar en la parte técnica en una empresa de producción audiovisual y bastaron unos pocos meses para que comience a formar parte del equipo creativo, inicialmente escribiendo guiones y posteriormente haciendo locución y edición de imágen y sonido. Desde hace ya varios años continúo trabajando en esa área.
En medio de todo eso, hace pocos días recibí la invitación a esta red por parte de mi amigo @meno a quien conozco desde mi época de estudiante universitario y con quien comparto el interés por la tecnología, la música y en especial la guitarra. Lo conocí por medio de su hermano, que era mi compañero de clases y con ambos mantengo una gran amistad que solo ha mejorado con el tiempo. Ambos creemos en el poder de la tecnología para convertir nuestras ideas en proyectos reales, así que decidí seguir su consejo y darle una oportunidad a esto. A ver qué sale...
