Not necessarily! First, it is important to understand that hard work is success to some and that is all based off of the individual’s goals and mindset! If the idea of “flow”, finding happiness in the smallest of actions, is practiced, and that the overall goal is to be happy. Then one may indeed say that their hardwork IS happiness!
However other individuals are more goal oriented, rather than process driven - which is not a problem at all! This means that the success they find will come more as a reflection upon achieving the individual goal.
Again, every individual is different and is what makes us so great, yet so easily divided.
To me, I’m hopeful that my hardwork brings me success in the future! I am more satisfied when accomplishing hard work, than doing the hardwork.
It's funny. " I am more satisfied when accomplishing hard work, than doing the hardwork." That sounds like it should be true. I usually find the opposite is true - or at least, my excitement and my hopes are higher when doing the work, but the sense of accomplishment fades quickly, and it rarely meets my expectations. :) I'd certainly like to get to the point when reality meets my expectation!
I’m curious if enduring hard work is exciting because of the action of working hard in itself, or because we see the progress compound incrementally over time?
Let us use push-mowing the lawn as an example. Many find peace in the processes itself, but to many others, it is purely a a chore. To those that find peace in the work, perhaps it is a pleasing action because the difference is observed with each step taken in the process of mowing. Upon completion, some may feel much more satisfied because the product is a beautifully trimmed lawn.
Maybe we are more motivated by short term goals that end up leading to fulfilling our larger goals 🤔 we are very complex!
To answer your question: Is hard work synonymous with success? Not necessarily.
Just as Aristotle says that happiness is a product of both effort and luck, so is success. There is too much in this world that a person has no control over.
That being said - without hard work and persistence, success way way less likely. :)
They're hardly synonymous (unless my dictionary's wrong) but is hardwork a prerequisite of success? I'd say in 99% of cases, yes. You might be born with amazing genetics and had the perfect upbringing to make success real easy for you, but I'm pretty sure most people do not fall into such a category.

Hard work and success are not always synonymous. They are both subjective terms, only definable by the individual.
