Hi Wayne, welcome on the Steem. Steemit( i used too) is just a Frontend to the Steem Blockchain.
You´re come on the Bottom Time of the Steem. Lot Users leave us with the Bearmarket after Dez.17
For a Newbie i tell you it is hard to grow here. But the money alone should not be your goal for the Steem. :-)
It comes with time, like all good thinks.
