We do have a lot in common! Well, except that I can cook now๐. You being an introvert came as a surprise to me, oh well, it's not written on the face... ๐ what else is needed for friendship? Well, a person interested in friendship...
I do have a Weku account, just that I haven't been active there. Posted just once and got $0.00, not Weku's fault though... I have 0 followers and I don't think I am following anybody too... I guess I should get a bit serious with it. I will check you out there...
I have the "introvert" experience to last a lifetime! My childhood memories are mostly those relating to being embarrassed or not at ease around others. I spent my time trying to avoid being the focus of attention!
I still can't cook. Boiling eggs is about the peak of my expertise!
Hahhahah! Well, my childhood is quite the opposite of that... Funny how I somehow changed while growing up...
Boiling eggs, really?๐๐
I'm pretty good at opening cans. Once I discovered that almost anything tastes okay with rice and a little ketchup, I lowered any advanced goals for cooking. I have actually prepared instant rice before!
I also weigh the same as I did when I was your age, so no danger of me getting overweight!
I actually don't get too excited about food. Almost anything that is not meat is okay. I don't go to restaurants and don't like fancy meals when something commonplace will do.
Oh, come on! You don't eat rice and ketchup everyday, do you? lol! It really isn't too late to learn, you can try it....๐ well, except if it ends up being exhausting....
Hahahahh! There are days when the mouth wants something really tasty, you may have to give it that...๐
I just have no interest in cooking. I am not exactly starving or lacking in nutrition because my live-in partner loves to cook and I have to remind her almost daily that I do NOT like fancy, rich food. The mainstay for me is rice, peas, kale, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, and a slice of the really wonderful veggie quiches she makes. We are both vegetarians, fortunately, or we probably would not get along well.
My weakness in the food category is dark chocolate. I have to ration it to such small servings it's easier to just do without; which is what I do. I love it but my ulcer does not, and it has the deciding vote.
BTW, this has to be a record-setting thread! It's nested about 40 levels deep.
Because I like chatting with you, Bitsy!
Oh, great! She sure is there to cover that cooking part...๐I have tried cutting out meat and other animal products from my diet for the longest time, but it just doesn't work for me... I guess i am just so uses to it. Actually, its super hard to be vegetarian here...๐๐. You both being vegetarian must have helped out alot!
I am okay with peas, rice, potatoes, onions and tomatoes but not kale.... Sadly, onions always make me cry...๐ but I still do use them anyways...
Dark chocolate has never been my pick, really... Yeah, does things tend to win sometimes. I really do hope that nothing is gonna keep me from my favorite snack someday...๐
Hahahah! Are we the first to reach that? Wow! Well, these things are hardly ever noticed๐! I sure do like to chat with you too, never a dull moment..๐
Giving up dead animal parts from my diet was easy. We discussed it during dinner when the subject came up and I related to my wife an incident that happened during the Vietnam War. I had been thinking about it for a long time and decided it was against my moral beliefs. We both agreed we could do without meat and we just stopped eating it. That was our last time, back in early 1972. We do eat eggs, but they are not fertile and do not deprive anything of life.
Being a vegetarian is not all that easy here, either. People think I'm a bit crazy, but I feel pretty strongly about their lack of awareness, too, so we're even. I don't think much about it any more and I have never regretted the decision. I don't mention it to others, but prefer not to eat with them when they have a piece of burned animal body on their plate. (See how subtly obnoxious I can be!)
My favorite food has always been a layered chocolate cake Mom used to make. That was pure Heaven for me! As I got older, my body became less tolerant of chocolate but I still ate the cake when Mom made one when I was visiting. I loved it but was suffering terribly with a painful ulcer by the time I returned home. I has been years, but I still miss that magic cake!
