Writing, light of my life, fire of my loins—a brief introduction to my world

What can I say about Blaire? That person works hard, I guess? I mean, its impossible to hear a word coming out of those lips. But the way that freak writes is filled with so many words you won't expect it coming from the same person! Words so straightforward you'd expect the one doing the writing are actually monsters who pierces onlookers with words made of steel.

Here it is again: the same scenario, the same intentions, the same type of dream, and most importantly, the same bright-eyed young writer taking his first step to the world of the grown-ups. I'm never known as a person of particular interest, probably why I almost disregarded the need for an introduction like this. There's just nothing to introduce about me, I'm almost nonexistent. But I soon realized thinking like that is naive and arrogant of me. So here I am now, welcome to my world!

My name is Blaire and I am like anybody else—I wish to earn a few bucks while doing what I love the most: writing. And when I say something I love the most I mean it. Writing is my passion, in fact, it is even safe to say that writing is the only thing worth mentioning about me. Needless to say, writing is everything I have, writing is me, its a part of my identity. I can write almost anything if given enough time and resources or time to research. However, I do prefer to write fiction and prose more than technical writing or poetry.

It's not a secret that I'm young. Creative writing may be my thing but it doesn't mean that I'm an immediate expert on the subject solely because I took a few literature courses in my classes. I believe I have a lot to learn and if I wish to show what I can do for this world then I need to work harder. I need to learn more and I need to practice a lot, but I'm not rushing things, I'd like to take my time to grow.

It took me a while to egg myself enough to have the confidence to believe I have something to offer worth reading. So here I am now trying my hardest to create works of art for people to enjoy and appreciate. Of course, if I'm being dead honest with all of you, I chose this platform because the prospect of earning money is very attractive! Getting paid doing what I love the most? Yes, please!

As you may have already observed, I chose to represent myself as a plague doctor. The first reason is that plague doctors look terrifying and their history of failures on their job is absolutely comical to me! And that sort of makes me like the image of the plague doctor. The second reason is that I am not comfortable showing my face around a large audience, not because I'd feel anxious being looked at but because I am a firm believer that in writing, the author is a ghost. One can acknowledge their existence as they read through their works but at the end of the day what needs greater consideration is the art rather than the artist. But of course, this is my opinion and it's a big reason why I prefer to don the mask of the plague doctor instead of showing myself.

I wish to be a witness on how this platform would grow further. I wish to find an array of works that would put off even the greatest masters of the art. I wish to grow further than what I am now with the help of this fantastic community. And more than anything, I wish to create pieces of literature to inspire, motivate, and entertain.

I'm so excited to be here! Please take care of me. Thank you very much!

Hello blairehawthorne! Welcome to Steemit! Hope you'll like the community here. As a start, here are 5 tips that we believe will be helpful to you:

  1. Keep your passwords safe: Unlike conventional sites, Steemit has 4 types of passwords. Each offers varying degrees of access to your account, so know where and when to use each of them. Also, make sure to keep them all safe and secure.
  2. Get Steem rewards: When writing a post, you'll have the option to choose how to receive your reward: "Default 50%/50%" or "Power Up 100%". As of this moment, choosing Default 50%/50% is the better option. But this can change over time. Check our post to know more.
  3. Upvote wisely: When upvoting, wait at least 30 minutes after the post is published to maximize your curation reward. Also, make sure not to upvote too much too fast so as not to drain your voting power.
  4. Know your Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power: Steem and Steem Dollars are the 2 main currencies here. Convert and power up more Steem into Steem Power so you can have higher values on your upvotes.
  5. Have Fun and Enjoy!
