RE: Angst at the Intro and Other Confessions!

Welcome to Steemit. Great photos and interesting introduction. Reading the Bible and understanding can be a challenge. I use a bible with notes that help put the words in context. And I attend church where my pastor can also shed light on the broader meanings and context. But ultimately, I suppose I do the same. Being told isn't enough...if I understand it to mean what I am told it means, then I am good to go.

We've found that the more the Word dwells in us richly the more it generates a Spirit of wisdom and revelation, and our minds are renewed. The Bible clearly designates some as "teachers" for the very reason you state. A problem only arises if someone teaches something BEYOND what the Scripture says. When folks do that the result are the many divisions we see today.

I’m currently working on a travelogue of the trip my wife and I took to Israel. It was pretty amazing to see the physical locations that I had drawn my own mental images of when reading.

Israel, Jerusalem in particular, is an interesting place both from a Biblical perspective as well as an archaeological perspective. I have not yet visited. Will you post your travelogue on Steemit?

It is halfway posted. I have been adding one item per day roughly. I have about ten posted so far.
