Welcome to the site!
I've had short obsessions with chess, but found I prefer to not play games and instead do tactics puzzles, follow GM tournaments, and watch ChessExplained videos for entertainment purposes. I don't want to study openings, can easily fall into a time suck playing bullet or blitz, and there are too many chess books and it's daunting trying to find the signal from the noise. But the game is so interesting and deep that I always find myself coming back and wanting to put time in, only to eventually settle into not studying or playing long games.
