Greetings! I am ethper, an old and grizzled veteran of the 1st gen Bitcoin wars.
Back in early '13 I had heard about the blockchain and Bitcoin, and I looked into striking it rich. I spent a few months researching, and then began mining away with my AMD rig in the summer. I had visions of wealth and fortune dancing across my mind's eye.
Within a few weeks I realized that I was never going to make it mining alone, so I joined a mining pool. I finally started making consistent gains, and by the fall I had coins in my wallet!
It’s 2013, so what do you do with coins and you want to sell them? Why, you go to Mtgox of course. sadtrombone
After their sudden and inevitable betrayal, I lost everything. Not only had I lost my coins, I had lost faith. I stopped mining, purged all traces of the blockchain from my life, and retreated into a darkened corner to lick my wounds. All of my dreams had been snuffed out, and I spent many years in that dark place. Far too many.
My eyes had been blinded by sadness, and my mind numbed by fear. I willfully let the blockchain pass me by.
No more.
It is now the dawn of the Second Era. I stand ready upon the field of battle, sword in hand, ready to fight the good fight. I stand shoulder to shoulder with you, dear reader. You and I, and all of our compatriots here, will fight on. We fight for the future. We fight for our freedom. We fight for our children. We will fight, and we will win.
Sad too here you lost your coins but glad to hear the motivation nice one
