I actually tried Storj which is similar. I think it is not worth it for the average home user. I can't see bursts model being too much different from Storj. But it goes like this. To break even you need to share 4 TB. To make a very tiny profit you need to store 16-20 TB. That includes like a year ROI I think. Who has even 1TB anymore? I know I don't.
We store more and more data the cloud and we are increasingly buying smaller hdd's like SSDs for performance. We also tend to stream content rather than store it.
I see this coin as a commerical operation only and for the average home user is not going to be worth it.
