Hi everyone,
Have been introduced to this community by my husband and thought "what the hay" maybe someone out there might enjoy something I have to say!
I have always been the introvert of the group, very shy and wouldn't say boo to a goose. However over the last few years things have been a bit challenging to say the least which has made me change my entire outlook on life.
Firstly, with a big history of cancer in the family, I found out that I have the mutated BRCA1 gene, which gives me an 85% chance of breast cancer and a 50% chance of ovarian cancer. Long story I opted to have a rick reducing mastectomy and reconstruction. I will be having a hysterectomy in the future in order to combat the ovarian cancer risk. Then 2 years ago my life was turned upside down. Our 2nd daughter, Isobel was stillborn at 29 weeks. In order to find a way out of the grief, my husband and I decided to take on 29 personal challenges (one for each week of pregnancy) in order to raise money for charity.
From rock climbing to white water rafting, bungee catapults to zip wires it gave me a new zest for life. I pushed myself so far out of my comfort zone with each challenge, yet after each one I felt amazing. It made me realise that we have to live the moment and experience life to the fullest. We don't get a second chance in life, some aren't even given the privilege of a first chance - don't waste a second of it.

Maybe you'r trip to Iceland was not one of the 29 personal challenges, but if you want to enjoy Iceland, you got to take some changes. It can lift your mind.
Your husband have been posting great photos from your trip to my country, so I think you could have some more to ad. I will follow and see how the journey of life is from your side :)

Thank you. I am already trying to persuade my husband to go back to Iceland for our 3rd trip! There is something truly special about your amazing country and I feel instantly at ease as soon as we land there.
