I'm Jalo Idris Muhammad, and I'm really happy to be joining the Ecency community.
I'm from Nigeria, where I work as a Bio Monitoring Officer with the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) in Lagos. My daily work revolves around biodiversity conservation, wildlife monitoring, ecological research, and helping people appreciate the incredible value of nature.
My conservation journey started with a simple curiosity about wildlife, especially birds. Over time, that curiosity became a career. Today, you'll often find me in forests, wetlands, or along nature trails with my binoculars and camera, observing birds, documenting wildlife, and collecting data that supports conservation efforts. Every day in the field reminds me that nature always has something new to teach us.
One of my biggest hobbies is birdwatching. I also enjoy wildlife photography because I believe every photograph tells a story and helps inspire others to care about our natural world. Whether it's spotting a rare bird, monitoring mammals, or watching a beautiful sunrise in the forest, these moments remind me why conservation matters.
I joined Ecency because I wanted a place where I could share my experiences beyond scientific reports. Here, I hope to post about wildlife encounters, conservation projects, birdwatching adventures, field experiences, nature photography, and the lessons I've learned while working in one of Nigeria's most important protected areas. I also look forward to learning from people with different interests and backgrounds across the world.
Outside work, I enjoy exploring nature, meeting like-minded people, and continuously learning new things. I believe that protecting our planet begins with sharing knowledge and inspiring others to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.
