Hello world! I'm Janne, a Finnish guy who has just finished his doctoral studies on energy engineering. So yeah, not THAT kind of doctor. I've enjoyed reading blog posts about energy, technology, social justice and whatnot. I've even been interested in trying some writing myself, but I've never been sure what I would write about and if I'd really be able to do it, so I've never established my own blog. Then yesterday I ran into Steemit, though like a true absent-minded professor, I've already forgotten how that happened! :) Steemit seems to provide a low threshold way of joining the blogosphere while also being in the forefront of something totally new, so I thought, why the hell not?
I've done my thesis on solar energy use in a high latitude environment and I'm very interested in clean energy technologies and how to prevent climate change. Thus, my updates will probably be related to these things. I also train martial arts, so perhaps I'll even write about that a bit. I love music and sometimes wish life was a musical. Well, sometimes it is, as objects in my kitchen have a habit of singing. Weird, right? Video games and D&D are also close to my heart, though luckily axe-wielding barbarians haven't invaded my real life (yet).
