Hi! I'm Me! And you are?

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Hi everyone! I'm Michael, AKA Komickaze. Google me. I'm all over the place. Add me. Follow me.

I'm new to Steemit, but not new to the internet. My site http://www.komickaze.com is 11 months older than Google has been a publicly traded company, older than Facebook by 5 months, and only a month younger than MySpace. No kidding. I'm that old.

Now if I can just monitize it. It looks like crap.

I'm an IT professional and a 40 year old college student. I'm happily engaged to the love of my life and we have two daughters. I like mining cryptocurrencies, writing stories & song parodies, singing said parodies, buying domain names, making YouTube videos (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8YbZLlS8ATTc_AghpN6Ziw), embarrassing the daughters, making paper, and making homemade journals.

I like to write about a lot of different things. I'm very opinionated. I have an interesting writing style, and I don't know how to write a short post. I guess that's because I always cared about punctuation, grammar, and complete sentences. I'm also a master of run-on sentences. Brevity is elusive to me. You might not realize that from this post, but you'll definitely see it in my other posts.

I'm also a decent photographer. Here's a photo of fog over Lake Tahoe I took last week.

I plan to post a lot on steemit, so follow me to keep up with my musings. You can also follow me anywhere else you find me online.

Hello, Komickaze, and welcome to Steemit.

To start, I must say that KOMICKAZE is a great name.

As for posting on Steemit, your intro kinda indicates that you will adapt nicely here. There are way too many short, insignificant posts, so it'll be great if you can upload posts with lotsa meat.

Here are a few basic points of advice re posting on Steemit.

  1. Longer posts are more lucrative than short posts. If you make a post of 20–30 paragraphs, it's more likely to earn rewards.
  2. Include some photos, images or graphs, to complement the text.
  3. Make sure the text and photos are formatted properly, so that your post looks attractive and appealing.

Hope this helps for now. Good luck, and Full Steem Ahead!

p.s. I'm an editor, so I might get in touch with you if I see too many run-on sentences and other such violations in your posts. Then again, I might just read past them and let them go.

Welcome to steemit ;)
Glad you plan on publishing a lot, I hope some more beautiful pictures like that lake!!!

You will!

Thanks. I have a lot of awesome ones from that day. One daughter said it was like standing at the edge of the world.

Welcome to Steemit friend!
Happy to follow, you seem genuine, nice and interesting.
what sort of domains do you buy? are you doing it in hoping some big company will want to use it?

I buy domains that I like for my own amusement or because I think I might use them later. Some I do, some I don’t.

Enjoy steemit :)
