Homosexuality

The law of manu, the foundational work of Hindu law, mentions a "third sex",members of which may engage in nontraditional gender expression and homosexual activities. In many societies of Melanesian, especially in Papua New Guinea, same sex relationships were an integral part of the culture until the Middle of the last century. However, many, especially in the academic world, regards the use of modern labels as problematic, owing to differences in the ways that different societies constructed same sex relationships.
