Who I Am
I am Ehinmola Adeola Alexander, I am 42years old, I am an economic adventurer, a political firebrand, a social crusader, a poet, a fisherman and a lover of dogs. I read political science as first degree and International Relations and Diplomacy at my masters. I am presently studying Msc. Peace and Conflict Resolution at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). I have no fears for anything, including death, maybe, as a result of my close proximity to it on several occasions where I have learnt how to fling a coin on its table after the unsolicited invitations for several dinners without saying thank you. I have toyed with journalism, strayed into the heartbeat of financial intelligence and discipline, I dabbled into oil politics in 2012 in my Local government, Ilaje local Government in Ondo State, Nigeria, where I engineered a bloodless coup against the Chief of my village and hit the headline of local organization of public opinion. I toyed with security from a professional enclave of our National Security having enlisted into the Department of State Services (DSS) 17th February 1997 where I had the rear privilege of providing Executive protection for a former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo for 8yrs. Having had a dint of 12years with the Service, I woke up on 1st of August 2008 and I made an appraisal of my sojourn in the secret world and I began to see myself in a vicious cycle, at that moment, the reality dawned on me and I saw no prospect in the Service anymore and my years of apprenticeship in the covert world was over. On the 3rd of same month, I wrote and resigned voluntarily even when I didn’t know what the future had in stock for me. In less than a week, I escaped into a mercantile employment, another job in an oil company as security advisor, again, after 8years on the Job, it was time for me to bounce and I resigned to co-found Pillarworld Securitas Solutions, a private security company located at the heart of Abuja, with bias for Executive protection and clandestine operations. I have been married for 16years and the marriage is blessed with three generals and one queen. I am an absentee father but a genuine family man. I have being privilege to have travelled to over eighty countries in the world, yet I truly remain insatiable because there is this burning thirst to see the world from myriads of divergent perspectives.
Challnges
I have always believed that challenges have become an integral part of our practical existence and I am always forthright confronting it because even the Bible says there is nothing new beneath the sun. The death of my father became a major inhibition towards my pursuit of qualitative education and it was almost becoming impracticable for the actualization of my lofty dreams before graduating from my high school, however, through determined efforts by accepting my fate with calm equanimity, I forged ahead through the ups and downs of the uncertainties of this plane earth. Having set my hands in the plough, I have never had any cause to look back, I am writing the stories of my life to suit my inner being without thinking about societal reaction to it.
My Passion
I am a lover of books, I love reading memoirs, biographies , autobiographies and I could indisputably dub myself as an unrepentant diehard of these characters who have played laudable roles in our quest for nationhood; Late Chief Gani Fawehinmi, Fela Kuti, Ken Saro Wiwa, Beko Ransom Kuti, Wole Soyinka, Olisa Agbakoba, Odia Ofeimum and most importantly Chief Obafemi Awololo for his mental magnitude as encapsulated in his trilogy; Voice of Wisdom, Voice of Reason and Voice Courage. I love any effort that will promote social and political justice and as well champion the cause of humanity in aggregate; I am prepared to die for the cause of justice. I love to discourse politics especially when the subject matter stimulates my mind and drives my intellectual vehicle beyond its limit.
Dislikes
I hate corruption with passion and all the trappings of injustice and oppression in our society. I find it extremely difficult to understand why people who are ideological barren would offer themselves for service and the unsuspecting people would proceed to vote for them and when they got to power; they slaughtered the system and abandoned the very vehicle they rode to power and the embarrassment and feeble gesture here and there continues.
My Aims and Expectations
I am fervently hoping that I would meet people who are more knowledgeable, who are very mobile in thoughts, whose mind are very fertile than I and indeed establish a foundation that would engender good friendship with a view to elevating national and international discourse on socioeconomic and political inequality in our various spheres of life. My expectation is that I would like to use this platform to champion the cause of the downtrodden, the wretched of the earth, the silent millions, the poorest of the poor especially in Nigeria and other third world countries and I am overconfident that this credible platform would provide me that voice.
