So, Patrice is not my real name. It is a variation of it. Don't ask for a verification post, you won't get a picture of me posted here. For one I don't like my appearance and two I believe that those who do not claim to be an online or IRL person/persona should be able to retain their anonymity if they wish.
I'm 40-ish. Divorced. I have one son who I love very much. Even better he gave me a granddaughter a couple of years ago!
Let's see.. I'm not that interesting. I currently live with a friend who needed help. Ironic since my illness last month we're just watching the work pile up together as I explore my new limitations. Glad to say that I'm tackling the challenge and am making progress with the exception of yard work!
I work at home for a startup company that does various things. I get paid well for the few hours I work a month, just not enough to pay the bills, hopefully I'll see more work come in soon. The company has been working on several projects that I will be involved in after launch.
If not I may have to rethink getting a job outside of the house. Which might be a blessing, I could pay someone to clean! Today's pet peeve: Why does my friend need three closets of clothes? Answer: Laundry avoidance.
So that leads me to how I got here. Last month after being released from the hospital I needed something to do that wasn't physical. I also needed to see about generating some income, even a little. Someone told me about Steemit.com three months ago and I signed up. Then I promptly forgot about it! The second or third day I was home I decided to see what it was about.
So far I've enjoyed my stay. I've made a few enemies. I've also made a few online acquaintances. I've found that helping users is fun and rewarding by itself at times. It is also frustrating to find that someone you've spent time helping doesn't get why plagerism and identity theft is a bad thing for the platform. There is only so much one can do to help.
I'm not sure I will ever have a creative niche here. I have always been a person with varied interests and nothing that I excel at.
That's me in a nutshell today. Steemit may not generate an income for me but I have had time to see the idea behind it and I hope to see it succeed.

I wrote post about it. The I'm angry one. :P I had blood clots in my legs. Because nothing was done about it at the time I have something called Post-thrombotic syndrome. It means that in my left leg valves in my veins are damaged and don't stop blood from flowing the wrong direction.
Only time will tell how bad it will be.
Argh, I hope you get out of it without a biggie :), haven't seen the post but I'll check it.
Hope you can at least rid your financial concerns soon.
