RE: Hallo Steemit Community

in #introduceyourself6 years ago

Hay and Welcome to Steemit @deumaximus from Austria, I'm from Ireland :-)

There is a little bit of a learning curve when it comes to steemit so let me give you some tips to get started.

Spend some time reading the FAQ – the first time round some of it might not make too much sense, but you will pick up a lot from there and its always a source of reference to go back to.
https://steemit.com/faq.html

Your posts on steemit can have 5 tags. You will find all the major tags here https://steemit.com/tags

However there are also many more tags set up by communities on steemit that cater for different niches.

Talking about communities, although the community feature of steemit is not ready yet (steemit is still in beta), communities are the backbone of steemit, although hosted elsewhere. You will find communities on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit and Discord.

Seek out communities of similar interests and engage with them. Network. This will help grow your following and get your name out there.

Join contests – Contests are fun, a great way to find your feet on Steemit, and you can also win prizes such as STEEM and SBD.

Don’t forget to curate. Sometimes we are so busy writing posts we can forget to curate. There is a simple way to look at this (besides the curators rewards available), if you want people to read and engage with your content, don’t you think you should do the same for others.

I think I should stop now, or it will be information overload lol. Don’t let all this put you off, Steemit is a great place with great people.

If you have any questions SteemitBC on discord are an awesome communities that will answer any questions you might have, they also run contests, network and just hang out. Here is your invitation. https://discord.gg/gDcJMQP

Please do consider @steemcommunity as your Steemit witness – this is a witness team set up by @abh12345 and @paulag
