Why only use steemit’s build-in promotion system? It’s comparatively expensive to be effective and it’s quite impersonal. I barely scroll it’s feed anyways because it makes no difference for me. Hi, I am rather new to this community, but this isn’t my first post. I took part in steemit as @s0phos since June this year. I mostly read and write about philosophy stuff. Steemit makes really worth my while, I haven’t had such a high density of quality content in a social network before like here on steemit. The authors – you - must have spend a lot of their time to create that amazing content.
Sometimes for me it is a pity to read an amazing article, containing useful informations, written in a entertaining way and formated to the finest – just to be read by less than a handful of readers. And yes, I know how disappointing that is. I’m sure many of us have gone through this.
It is no secret that if you want to be successful in social media, you need a network. People have to know you for your content and have to come back to you for that special content you provide. It takes a while to build up significant following, but there is no way around. So why not speed up building that network? As I’ve written on top, I think recommendations work the best, when they are given personally. Instead of only spending great amounts on steemit’s promotion feature to give yourself a boost, how about to add a line or two to your own article referring to someone’s content you like. This would be a win-win-win situation!
By recommending others in your article, you give them a boost by redirecting interested readers to their content. You get more attention because you feed additional information and any reader will appreciate getting directed to more quality content. And best thing is: same is done for you!
You had my curiosity, but now you got my attention. How does it work then?
It’s simple. You keep on writing your entries like you did before. But you will add a line or two commenting on someone you like. This could be in the end of your own article as
“@example has been writing about this and that, I really like his article about bitcoins – go check it out at https://steemit.com/@example/e.g ”
But you can let your imagination run wild while thinking of ways to recommend someone. Steemit even allows you to add clickable images into your post, so why not exchanging banners with your trading buddy?

You could either promote an article already written or you promote someone’s profile page in general. That would mean a greater independence because the promotee’s article hasn’t to be finished his article when yours is.

And again, the whole thing bases on the idea, that this is done vise versa – you promote someone in your articles and get yourself promoted by him in his articles too.
@promexchange – the platform to find promotion partner
@promexchange is a platform for you to go on and check for other people to promote with each other. You will get a list with all people participating, nicely sorted by topic’s and user reputation. When visiting @promexchange you can expect mostly two types of postings. This is to keep it simple and clean
First type of post it one to collect all the requests. Since this is to collect orders, it will be called order book.
You might know that principle from any crypto currency exchange of your choice.
In this order book, terms and ideas found on this page will be repeated briefly for people, who missed this article to read and are new participating. It will also explain possible changes in process – all in all pretty self explanatory. Deciding to take part, you will fill in your order in steemit’s comment section on that same page. This article will also be the first order book.
Second type of posts is to evaluate given data. Since I process your offers, sorting them by categories + user reputation level and then reporting back to you, it’s name report is pretty obvious. For your convenience you will received a fully processed list, you simply can scroll through and find a suitable match. Then you can utilize the comment section once again contacting it’s @creator by linking him as shown. When he or she also is interested, you might negotiate terms and conditions such as when you expect to post your article, how you want to promote each other ( maybe exchange some banners?) etc.
Reports will contain a table and most likely some graphical visualizations and statistics of the development of our promotion marked. They will look something like this:

I decided to have two types of post rather than one, so you have two addresses to interact. To separate offers and negotiations will help to reduce chaos in comment section.
From time to time there might occur a third type of posts, which I will use to give evaluation, presenting new features and make polls for you to decide on and eventually one or another useful tutorial on how creating banners or something like that.
Write your order in @promexchange’s order book!
I plan to work on a daily base; that means that once per day I will open a order book for you to write in. On the next day I will publish everything in it’s report. In this way we don’t get confused and we will have a nice and clean overview. So it is important that you, if you want to participate, only write in the latest order book.
You can expect me to give reports in the evening. For you that would be around 10-11 pm UTC. This may vary a bit, but I try to keep that window.
So if you choose to give this a try you simply write in comment section below following:
@name level category link or to give an example, I would fill in:
@promexchange 25 steemit https://steemit.com/@promexchange/actuallinkIdontknowyet For entry “category” you use the first tag you used for your article in steemit. You don’t have to give a link to a post in case you don’t want to promote a single article of yours but just want to participate and find a permanent promotion partner. In this case you would be on this list and to be found on this (growing) promotion exchange platform. But when you do, please make sure to type in https:// in front of your given link, so steemit will recognize it as link when pasted in! This is important!
Important as well is that you strictly keep that format because I process that data with calculation programs, which would get confused by this given format changing. So please so kind and make sure to leave only spaces between entries and no other syntax.
Depending on how this develops I might add also functions to just buy or sell a promotion for SBD. But in the beginning I want to keep it a bit simple and try and test it out to check if there are more people here than me interested in a “organic promotion system”

Please note that I am doing this for fun and an extended steemit experience. This is an experiment to try and test something new. Therefore I cannot give any securities or can be hold reliable for any mistakes or other problems. Promotion exchange will grow with it’s use, it is not finished yet. You should be aware that with that platform I only can help you finding people to exchange promotion with, not doing the actual trade. You agree to trade promotions with other users on your own risk. I cannot ensure that the other party will keep it’s word and promote you as well.
I think of a way of adding a dispute section into reports to help a little, so when someone’s not keeping word, you can report it and it will be published and might even result on putting someone on some sort of a black list. But let us don’t think of the worst in the beginning. This just for you to know that I am not liable for other not to deliver.
Also by posting your offer into order book, you will get linked into following report. Please note that and don’t consider it as spam or abuse
I do give my best to keep a reliable schedule, having each day a new order book + a report from last day’s. But since I am not a robot I ask you kindly for your comprehension when it should be delayed.
Of course posting a request on promotion exchange is voluntary. If there is no suitable match for you, you are not bound to anything around here. Only when when you already made a deal with someone, you are obliged to fulfill your part of the agreement.
