With your current SP, it will be a loss if you vote by less than 50% VW. So it makes it a 50-50 game of loss & profit ...like tossing a coin! Would be better if you can increase the limit for minimum VW on every vote.

That really depends on the intention. A lot of people would rather have a small loss, but gain reward for their post in order to get on the hot/trending page. Getting there can often be really valuable.
not going to do it with 50 cents! 50 dollars will get you there, but frankly visibility is not as profitable as most suspect - developing a following is the best.
