A new large-scale cyber attack affects companies and institutions around the world
Numerous companies and government agencies around the world reported Tuesday that they were targeted by a large-scale cyber attack.
The virus has affected operating systems in Russia, the United States, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark, India, France, Spain and Norway, among other countries.
The first indications of the attack came from Ukraine, where ministries, state electricity distributor Ukrenergo and Kiev's main airport reported computer crashes.
Staff at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant had to monitor radiation levels manually after plant sensors, operated by the Windows operating system, were shut down.
