This is living!

The feeling of charging into battle is irreplaceable.
In this modern world we can be so far removed from the world of our ancestors... and this...is the reason my heart soars! That feeling of syncing up with the primitive drums faintly still beating within my DNA as I ready my bow, arrows in hand... sitting in the saddle waiting at the top of the track for that target to turn my way, My horse dancing beneath me equally excited for the charge... a massive bald eagle soars above my head, the sun in shining over the coast-line... THIS is living! Feathers in my hair and runes laced into my braids, harnessing the support of the spirit guides that surround me... How could I ask for anything more?

My name is Sarah Clarke, I am a competitive horse archer. I am a member of Seawinds Horse Archers Club in Nova Scotia Canada and I have big plans to take on this sport head on and I want to share my journey with all of you as I grow!

Roxy is my spirit horse she is my big mama soul sister, her son is Skipper a wild spirited lover boy who is new to the scene, Bailey was my first competition horse, and Dusty, the horse seen in this picture was my first horse in training on the track. I plan to profile all of the horses so you can get to know their quirky personalities in a mini-series of posts. Trust me, they each deserve their own!

Seawinds Horse Archers Club is located directly on the bay of Fundy and the location alone is a reason to come and see us!
But we do also offer training camps and excursions to all!

I am new to blogging so bare with me here as I am getting started, but I hope you will feel my passion for this sport, for the horses, the desire to expand my knowledge, my experience, and my world in everyway that I can. Maybe you will be inspired in some way to go out and chase your own dreams no matter how big!

"Riding a horse is not a gentle hobby, to be picked up and laid down like a game of Solitaire. It is a grand passion."
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
