Introducing RoundballsDeep: articles about basketball-- the NBA

It occured to us after posting our first article, reprinted below, we had zero clue how to tag articles properly for the Steemit! community. We certainly didn't understand the concept of #IntroduceYourself tag here on Steemit! So today we're (re)taking the opportunity NOW to put out the shingle for excellent original basketball content. We intend to post content you won't see anywhere else, with deeper thought than traditional media related to sports. We're already submitted some articles, and fixed our tagging problem-- enjoy! If you check out our recent NBA draft ranking, you'll see some picks which don't look ANYTHING like what you've been reading lately on the draft-- something we wished occured more often--> TOO MUCH GROUPTHINK in sports these days!

In short we are BONKERS FOR BASKETBALL. We play ball inside a barn Indiana-style, shoot inordinate amounts of free-throws, watch NBA and NCAA games with religious zeal, and like to concoct views, opinions, and themes other sportswriters never talk about. But instead of trying to write everything we are, we'd rather just let you read our articles--> subscribe if you dare. We don't promise you'll fall in love with our "hot takes" or infatuations, we only promise you'll get articles which will make you think harder about the sport and if lucky extrapolate to real life.

***************Below is our original post which was mistagged*************************

Sports writing always seems to lack depth:
"LeBron is the GOAT!!"
"LeBron will never be as good as MJ"

The writing here will look to be more interesting than the prevailing twitter posts we see about the most "hot" topic of the moment; the writing here will strive to titillate your basketball love, call out the BS which can hide behind a good PR agent, and maybe even relate roundball to the rest of your life.

The goal will be to write about basketball, past & present & future, in a way you haven't seen before, because all you've ever read is written by those who by economics and how-the-world-works must BROWN-NOSE the NBA organization and/or it's members and related parties. Sure, the articles will come from a fan of pro ball, but no punches will be withheld; the promise is you'll see the same player both praised for one thing while bashed for another-- just so long as there might be enuff circumstantial evidence to warrant a new angle. After all, the NBA is a micro-civilization with all the same goods and bads of a larger civilization and the world. The intention here is to analyze it hard, objectively, but with suggestions on what MIGHT be going on behind the scenes. If you don't like what you read, try another article, and your opinion may reverse.

This writer is coming to you as a former "homer" from the east coast and if you put all the pieces together over time you'll know which team was the favorite a few decades ago. This is fair warning the info may be skewed towards certain teams, but not partial or biased since the love of that particular team has turned to indifference, actually. This writer likes the game, likes the micro-economy of basketball and all its trimmings, and likes to get deep and original.

Will finish with a mantra...

If basketball were Religion:
God = James Naismith
Jesus = Bill Russell
Holy Ghost = John Wooden
&
Money = The Devil

Play Religiously!

Awesome!! Love seeing more basketball junkies.

Welcome!

I follow basketball as well, and when it comes to my sports opinions I'm a bit contrarian, so I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of content you create!

Thanks Olympus, look forward no more, we already have a few articles up you can read, and we think they aren't what you might normally see.
