Hello Steemians! I am @timgboye, I live in Lagos State, Nigeria and I am a lover of many things such as Information Technology, Photography, Music, Snail farming and so on. I just completed my undergraduate programme in Computer Science at National Open University of Nigeria, popularly called NOUN. I am a computer scientist with wealth of experience in IT world.

HOW WAS I INTRODUCED TO STEEMIT?
I heard about steemit from a friend @sola4boy. The way he sensitized and presented steemit to me made me create this account with immediate effect. I am pretty sure that I receive warmth welcome and much love from this great community.

NOW THAT I AM ON STEEMIT
Now that I am on steemit as a beginner with a multitude of people, I am assured that it is going to be a mutual and lovely family full of fun.
I will not hesitate to preach STEEMIT to others through various means I find helpful and contribute my quotas without holding back my knowledge or values that can effect positive change to myself.

ON STEEMIT I MUST

• Share my view/knowledge with people probably through writing, photography, video, etc.

• Make the community livable and enjoyable for people of all ages to stay connected.

• Also earn and give back to the community.

Hello timgboye! Welcome to Steemit! Hope you'll like the community here. As a start, here are 5 tips that we believe will be helpful to you:

1. Keep your passwords safe: Unlike conventional sites, Steemit has 4 types of passwords. Each offers varying degrees of access to your account, so know where and when to use each of them. Also, make sure to keep them all safe and secure.
2. Get Steem rewards: When writing a post, you'll have the option to choose how to receive your reward: "Default 50%/50%" or "Power Up 100%". As of this moment, choosing Default 50%/50% is the better option. But this can change over time. Check our post to know more.
3. Upvote wisely: When upvoting, wait at least 30 minutes after the post is published to maximize your curation reward. Also, make sure not to upvote too much too fast so as not to drain your voting power.
4. Know your Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power: Steem and Steem Dollars are the 2 main currencies here. Convert and power up more Steem into Steem Power so you can have higher values on your upvotes.
