Introducing my new little lady, Stevie!

If anyone knows anything about me at all, it is that I absolutely love animals. All my life I wanted my very own dog, but was never in a stable enough position to support one. I am now back in Australia after living overseas this year, and decided it was finally time!

My heart was set on adopting a dog as I had fostered a cat in Mexico and he was the sweetest little man. There is nothing more rewarding than giving another being a second shot at life. I started looking at animal shelters trying to find my new best friend, but as I am renting an apartment my choices were very limited and I was not able to find one that was small enough for my living arrangements. One thing I have come to find about Australia is that it certainly lags behind many countries I have been to in the 'pet friendly' department.

I started looking at dogs on the internet that were more suited to my environment and was overwhelmed by the cuteness overload. I came across a 'Pomskie' (Pomeranian x Husky) that was for sale. My sister owns 2 giant huskies and I adore them, but they are definitely not an apartment dog. I figured if I got a Pomsky it would be the perfect dog for me. Ofcourse, like many of the other ads I came across, it turned out to be a scam. I was so convinced, I was 2 minutes away from booking a flight to pick him up!

After 2 weeks of searching, I finally got a reply from a lady who's dog recently had a litter of puppies. They turned out to be 'Spoodles' (Cocker Spaniel x Poodle). I never pictured my self to own a dog like this, but she sent me a photo and ofcourse I thought they were cute, they were puppies! I drove 3 hours north to meet them, and fell in love immediately. It was very hard to not be irresponsible and walk away with two, but chose the one I bonded with most.

Please meet my beautiful little lady, Stevie. She loves socks (particularly my favourite sailor mars ones), furniture & waking me up numerous times at ungodly hours of the night, but I love her so much and would not change her for the world.
