Diferente está bien. Se lo repetía una y otra y otra vez. Desde niño sentía que no encajaba, solo de a ratos y con pocas personas le sostenía esa seguridad que sentimos al estar en el lugar correcto, en tiempo, espacio y compañía.
Different is OK. He repeated it to him over and over and over again. Since he was a child he felt that he did not fit in, only at times and with few people he was sustained by that security that we feel when we are in the right place, in time, space and company.
Disculpen que empiece este relato en tercera persona, y claro, hablo de mí, es que desde muy temprano en la vida me refugié en el dibujo, pasando a ser la expresión plástica mi manera preferida de de compartir lo que llevo dentro, evuentualmente empecé a pintar y encontré una manera de conectarme con todo y con todos, dentro y fuera de mí.
Excuse me for starting this story in the third person, and of course, I'm talking about myself, since very early in life I took refuge in drawing, becoming plastic expression my favorite way of sharing what I have inside, eventually I started to paint and found a way to connect with everything and everyone, inside and outside of me.
Todo esto, en detrimento de la palabra, cuando escribo deambulo por laberintos de razones que enredan y envuelven mis emociones.
All this, to the detriment of the word, when I write I wander into labyrinths of reasons that entangle and encircle my emotions.
Aclarado el asunto, empecemos de nuevo, mi nombre: Francisco Antonio Loyo Tortolero. Me cuentan que nací en Nirgua, un hermoso pueblo del estado Yaracuy en Venezuela, hace un poco más de cinco décadas.
Clarified the matter, let's start again, my name: Francisco Antonio Loyo Tortolero. They tell me that I was born in Nirgua, a beautiful town in the state of Yaracuy in Venezuela, just over five decades ago.
Obtuve un título en Publicidad en el IUNP extensión Valencia, allí descubrí una de mis pasiones: la fotografía.
I got a degree in Advertising at the IUNP Valencia extension, there I discovered one of my passions: photography.
Luego de ejercer como publicista durante un par de décadas tuve una inesperada oportunidad, la Universidad Nacional Experimental del Yaracuy abría una nueva carrera, Diseño Integral, buscaban docentes ofertando un Curso de Oposición, participé y, haciendo el cuento corto, pocos años después me encontraba dando clases de Publicidad y Dibujo a Mano Alzada, así la docencia emergió en mi vida como otra pasión. Allí he estado los últimos catorce años.
After working as a advertiser for a couple of decades I had an unexpected opportunity, the National Experimental University of Yaracuy opened a new career, Integral Design, they were looking for teachers offering an Opposition Course, I participated and, to make a short story, a few years later I found myself giving Advertising and Freehand Drawing classes, so teaching emerged in my life as another passion. I have been there for the last fourteen years.
Resumiendo, mis principales motivaciones en la vida son las artes visuales y la docencia. Espero con ansias descubrir algunas más.
In short, my main motivations in life are the visual arts and teaching. I'm looking forward to discovering some more.
