Welcome to hive! I’m glad that you’re on here with us, it’s a wonderful place full of lots of great people!

I am glad to see someone from the Steemit days popping in and checking us out again. Don’t know if it was the crazy price action or what. A lot has changed since those days and the blockchain has improved quite a bit. One of the great improvements has been communities! You can now search through communities that are organized around topics instead of just looking for post tags. Makes things a hell of a lot easier! What hasn’t changed though is the importance of commenting and interacting with people in their posts. If you spend more time commenting than posting, you might be able to set yourself up a good stake for that decentralized film company! Best of luck, hope to see you around!

We’ve got a beginner zone, so-to-speak that has lots of important information you can learn from. I would recommend you check it out to learn some stuff about the place, lots of great information is posted there.

One of the things I wanted to do is give you a piece of advice that could make this place awesome for you! Talking with some of the people who have been here for a while, we remember one of the best things we did was find other people’s posts through others or go looking and start commenting meaningful things. If you drop small phrases it won’t get you much attention but if you look at a persons post and leave a great comment, a lot of times they will appreciate it and talk with you. If you continue to do this you will develop a friendship with them and will gain followers and grow your account. This is not an easy and fast process. It takes time but the more effort you put in the more you can be rewarded, with limitations of course.

I just say this in hopes you go out there and really connect with people and grow your account. The more we all do this, the more people will come here to take advantage of such a great place.

With commenting and posting, we consume what’s called ‘resource credits’ and in the beginning you don’t have a lot, you have to earn more. If you want to consistently comment and post, the website https://giftgiver.site/ does 10 day delegations for you to increase your credits to comment or post. Give it a try if you need some! Please feel free to ask me about this if you are confused!

There’s also a great article that can answer a lot of the questions you may have. Please visit it at:

Here are also some great communities of people you can check out! The list is a work in progress so please take them as suggestions but there are a LOT of others besides these!

@cmplxty I actually have a question if you don't mind. I'm seeing a lot of the same content posted here on Hive.blog as on Peakd and I'm wondering if folks are posting twice, or if the accounts are automatically synced up? What's the difference between the two?

Great question! So one of the things that's great is that there are now multiple front ends to access the ecosystem. Hive.blog is the old Steemit.com basically. Very basic stuff.

Peakd uses the same content but the website is a far cry upgrade to hive.blog with all kinds of better features and more organization! I use PeakD exclusively on my laptop and on my phone as well. For my phone though, one of the best apps to access the ecosystem is called Ecency. You accumulate usage points by using it and then you can use those points to "boost" one of your posts with some votes. It's helpful to get yourself back on track!

With those two front ends, you'll be in great shape in no time!

Ohhh okay. Cool. So posting on of the front-end dapps will auto-post over here on hive.blog I imagine - but my user experience will be better on Peakd? Makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. I'll check out Ecency too. Appreciate you!

Yeah there are a few front ends. The main ones are PeakD, hive.blog, Ecency and Leo Finance. Leo is dedicated to crypto blogging but the others are for whatever.

They all point to the underlying Hive blockchain infrastructure which is great.

Also, don't know if you are on a phone or a laptop but the Hive Keychain app is the most secure way to do anything financial like powering up etc. because it encrypts the keys on your device and broadcasts the signed transaction. A bit more than you might need right now but it's all about safety!

Awesome, thanks so much for all the help - really appreciate the tips as I attempt reintegration. :)

Sweet! Thanks so much for dropping all these resources. I def noticed that things have changed up quite a bit and was feeling a bit overwhelmed at figuring out the ropes. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction to get started. :)
