Good day, Hive! I'm a new cast member of Hive, a curious explorer of life, and a passionate storyteller. As I embark on this new journey, I want you to know who I am.
Let's get to know me!
My real name is Christine Mhae, but you can call me "Mikay". I am talkative, positive, goal-driven, witty, fun, friendly, and an optimistic girlie! I love socializing and meeting different types of people. I love making friends in any place. I love to listen to how they grow as individuals and what are there changeless principles in life. I'm also vocal and straightforward; I don't like beating around the bush. I don't tolerate wrongdoing. However, having this kind of character, I received a lot of hate and misconceptions about myself.
Moreover, I am open-minded in terms of beliefs, religion, culture, and opinions. I am a pure Filipino who was born and raised here in the Philippines. We lived in Mandaue City, but due to a fire incident, we lost our house. So my mother remembers someone when she was a kid; she remembers the one who offered my Lolo a property, but my Lolo declined because it had many shortcomings. It's a rural place that doesn't have any sources of electricity or water. After the incident, my mama looked for that man to ask if his offer was still available and if there was anyone who bought the lot.
Luckily, the property has not been sold in a long time because of its scary ambiance and because it's a bushy place with lots of bamboo trees. So my mom took the risk; she bought the property with the help of our provider, "my papa." Of course after she paid, we moved into our new place, and that's where I live right now. In the northern province of Cebu City, which is located in Laaw, Borbon, Cebu.
I am 18 years old. A first-year student who took up BTLED-HE at Cebu Normal University, a state university here in Cebu City.
I am the eldest daughter among three siblings. I have two sisters. At a very young age, my parents taught me to be responsible and to be a good role model. Being the eldest requires a lot of responsibilities and pressure. I had a (not so) cruel childhood. I didn't have a glamorous and well of life up until now, but the past is worse. When I was a kid, my papa got sick and my mother was working, so being the eldest, I needed to take care of my sisters. I needed to clean our house, wash the dishes, and do some household work that a child could carry out.
At the same time, I need to be hands-on in my studies because my father will hurt me if I get low scores or grades. Maybe because of his illness (before) or maybe because he's an academic achiever, or maybe he can't accept the fact that I can't be like him. So he pushes me to do my best and to pressure myself to be better. He always told me that "education is a competition," but I didn't apply that thinking. As long as I did my best and didn't t have failing grades, I am content. But he wants more; he doesn't want to hear just "no failing grades." He wants me to be on top.
As time passed, I became competitive because of his constant pressure and comparison. Despite all of my success, his eyes are still glued to my failures. If I can't meet his expectations, he will hurt me physically and verbally. However, as time passed, his behavior of my dad became better each day, and he is slowly recovering from his illness. He apologized for his wrongdoings, and he made me realize that it was for my good. In fact, he's not wrong; if I pressure myself before, it will bring out the best in me. I think I will not settle for being just mediocre. I think I can be more. I can do more. Nevertheless, time is running out, and I'm still young. My life didn't end up when I didn't get many awards. I also believe if you're not losing you're not viewing. In addition, I view failure as an opportunity to learn.
I have shared my (not so) dramatic introduction about myself. So now let's continue to dig more about my hobbies!

Cooking
I love cooking very much. At first, it was just my responsibility. However, as I entered the world of cooking and as I tasted its lavishing foods it made me love to explore different dishes and create new recipes.
Driving
When I was a kid I was very determined to learn how to drive; I even dreamed of driving our motorcycle. My desire to learn this skill is top tier. I always find a way to learn its step-by-step process. As time passed by I learned how to drive a motorcycle whether it's manual or automatic type. I do rides in a peaceful place where silence is loud — where the peace of mind reconnects with nature and most importantly where the heart feels at ease.
Makeup
One of the best things is to look good. I always want to look good even though I have lots on my plate. Looking good for myself makes me feel confident and different. It makes me mask up my problems in life and hide them with the beauty of make-up. Also, I like to beautify other people as well, it is a fulfillment for me to see them look good and to see them boost their confidence.
REASON FOR JOINING HIVE
My main reason for joining Hive is to improve my writing skills and to interact with people who are experts in this field. I want to enhance my skills and sharpen my knowledge with discovery. I want to read about their experiences and what's the things they do and what are the life-changing changes they make.
What I can contribute to hive
I like to share some of my experiences and knowledge that some people don't know because I believe that we have different experiences and knowledge as individuals. I can contribute healthy content as a blogger by knowing what is digitally literate person is.
Before I end my intro blog, I would like to give my warmest gratitude to Miss @jobeliever. The one who encouraged me to enter this digital realm. Her unwavering support and guidance push me to start my blogging journey. I would like to thank her for helping me unlock my creativity and for inspiring me to take bold strides to share my thoughts in the world of blogging. I am truly grateful for her kindness, patience, mentorship, and friendship, I will carry her words of wisdom as I continue to grow and evolve as a blogger!
