For some time now, I have had the same view every evening my husband, @novamind, hunched over his computer, typing away with total focus. Sometimes he’d smile at the screen, sometimes he’d mutter something about whatever.” I assumed it was work, until one night my curiosity finally won and i asked him “What exactly are you always typing?”
He turned the screen toward me and was like come let me show you, its a different type of social media and then he introduced me to ecency platform, he said its a type of social ecosystem them people get rewarded not with like alone but with the hive coin or token
I’ve used social media for years, and of recent twitter or is it now X and I’ve never earned anything from it. I just do it for the fun of it. The platforms make money from our content and attention, while we just scroll and post for free and from the looks of it Hive/ecency flips that idea.
My husband explained that Ecency also rewards you for simply being active. Posting, commenting, and engaging earn you points, which makes it
a welcoming place for newcomers or should i say beginners like me who are still finding their feet. He has taken his time to show me a few things about the platform and how it works and the communities etc. He also said that the platform is quite deep and its something youll have to explore for yourself because one community might be for you and some others might not, it all depends on what you are looking for at the end of the day.
So yeah the communities to explore really won me over, because it seems Hive/ecency has spaces for nearly every interest as he showed me , their is a space for photography, cooking, travel, music, gaming, writing stories and so much more. I watched as he scrolled through posts from people all over the world, from home cooks in Nigeria to photographers in Europe and daily blogs of people from South America etc all sharing their lives and getting supported for it.
It felt less like a competition for followers and more like a conversation among people who genuinely care about what others are creating. So ill just start with my photo feeds, these pictures were taken when we went on a mini vacation with our kids. I hope you all will be nice and supportive. Thank you for your time if you read this!
