This is the conclusion of the Cryptocurrency Series:

Today I'm going to be mentioning a few cryptocurrencies that I think have the potential to provide you with very good returns by holding them as mid to long term investments.
By now I assume you've already read through the previous posts that I have written on this topic and have done enough research on it yourself to be relatively comfortable with investing in it, if that's what you have chosen to do.

That being said my picks for 2018 for investment purposes are:

  • Ethereum
  • OmiseGO
  • Bitcoin
  • Ripple

I have chosen these cryptocurrencies and platforms based on long investigation regarding the power of their brand and utility.
Ethereum, OmiseGO and Ripple are ambitious projects and ones that I think have real world application. They are aiming to integrate into our lives and societies by solving issues that we all deal with in many spheres of our lives.
I believe that Ethereum has already established itself well and it is unlikely that any new competitor will dethrone it without difficulty.

Bitcoin has the power of being the most widely publicized cryptocurrency. It was the the first ever cryptocurrency, thus it has the power of brand recognition. This cryptocurrency has the benefits of a massive team behind it and huge community support with a long and proven track record.

In conclusion, please do in-depth research into this topic if you are considering investing in it. Cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology are complicated subjects. You should dedicate time to understanding them before you commit to investing. I have briefly outlined components of this topic in my series, largely to provide you with some context of what I was talking about as it is a rather obscure topic to many. Further research is strongly advised if you are interested in pursuing this avenue of investment.

  • I would suggest that you do not keep your investment on an exchange but in a hardware wallet like the Ledger or Trezor.
