I swore off stocks ever since DeCode Genetics went bankrupt. I lost every penny, but the people who owned the company started up again and are doing just fine today.
However, I don't see land, or property, as an investment mentioned in your blog. We (my husband and I) bought our home a long time ago (1974) and its appreciation has been approximately 16 times the purchase price. We are neither savvy buyers nor well off. Just a modest couple who bought a home in which to raise our children. But this purchase has held up against inflationary pressure.
As for Hive? This is more a personal investment (personal growth and enjoyment) than a financial enterprise. But if it also pays off, as my home has, then I'm a double winner.
Either way, Hive or my home, I can't lose.
