Digix plans to bring back the gold standard. A gold dollar cryptocurrency not only provides stability but can lead to the tokenization other metals and commodities. With stability and store of value on a blockchain, an entire ecosystem of applications is possible. However, it remains to be seen if cryptocurrencies can be considered the gold of the future, or if gold is the gold of the future.
