With the recent privacy scandals and de-platforming movements, I've been more interested in learning about decentralized technology. Most of these technologies are in their infancy where the only people really using them are developers. I think that IPFS is likely to become one of the bigger players in this emerging decentralized Web 3.0 and it looks like IPFS developers are beginning to roll out some products that is making the system more open to normal users like myself. I plan on testing out these new products, like IPFS companion and IPFS Desktop, and then developing my own IPFS blog.
In learning about IPFS, I see instances of some synergy between IPFS and steem (such as d.tube) so Steemit seemed like the natural place to start documenting this journey and maybe get some useful feedback and tips from the community.
