Dissent--Our Greatest Ally

in #israel7 years ago

The Jewish people have staked out a country in the middle of the Muslim colonialist empire and the narrative promoted in the West, on university campuses and mainstream media outlets, is that the Israelis are the colonizers!

What can be done about it?

The first Zionists were dissenters. Moses Hess worked along side Karl Marx and was a communist before rejecting Communist ideology and embracing Zionism.

Theodor Herzl told Kaiser Wilhelm II upon meeting him in Palestine that he was attempting to draw the Jewish people away from the radical left wing parties.

The left wing socialists largely won the culture war. In many ways Zionists lost the plot. The kernel of Zionism, which contained a pure anti-left wing element, was compromised. In the words of David Wdowinski, a leader of the right wing ZZL during the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, "“Jewish leadership suffered …from…confusion in political orientation. …The confused political orientation was largely due to the fact that many Jewish leaders were reared in the spirit of the Russian Revolution, and they thought they could translate the ideas of the class struggle into Zionist terms."

Like the fly that got caught in the transport machine during scientist Seth Brundle's trip through a teleportation device, the socialist disease was absorbed into the very movement which was incarnated to be against it.

Why did Herzl not speak out more vehemently against the left wing narrative? Perhaps he was trying to be as inclusive as possible. He also did not live very long.

At any rate, the bug that managed to slip in during the development of the Zionist enterprise is largely responsible for much of the Jewish people and Israel's problems both on the world stage and with many domestic enemies. What is the solution?
