Perchè, sempre di più oggi, potrebbe non essere una provocazione rispondere alla domanda posta qui accanto con un laconico: "di microbiota"? Esistono forse delle mutue relazioni fra i piccoli batteri che colonizzano il nostro Intestino e il nostro sistema nervoso centrale?
Molte ricerche stanno provando a comprendere proprio questo: quali collegamenti sono presenti fra la conformazione della micro flora intestinale e le capacità intellettive di un individuo, o se esistono dei legami con alcuni disturbi psichici e alcune malattie neurodegenarative.
Da queste ricerche emergono spunti di riflessione anche per il mondo della celiachia.
Cercherò, nel susseguirsi dei post, di approfondire alcuni argomenti dei quali io per primo vorrei saperne di più. L'intento, almeno iniziale, sarà quello di schematizzare le mie ricerche nei seguenti punti:
- Cos'è il microbiota e quali informazioni abbiamo oggi sul suo conto.
- Che implicazioni ha l'assunzione di alimenti contenenti glutine, in generale, sul microbiota e che relazioni si conoscono oggi fra celiachia e il microbiota. Che conseguenze sono state osservate sul microbiota se si segue una dieta priva di glutine.
- Come approfondimento al punto precedente, mi piacerebbe comprendere se ci sono oggi delle ricerche sui benefici (o aspetti negativi) che possono derivare, nello specifico per i celiaci, da una dieta che si arricchisce dei diversi cereali naturalmente privi di glutine, e ancora quali benefici o problematiche possono esserci nell'assunzione di probiotici specifici.
- Infine mi vorrei soffermare sulle aspettative che sto maturando e che, sempre di più, condivido con altre persone affette da celiachia, sul come vorrei che evolvessero i prodotti per celiaci.
Concludo con quello che sarà l'inizio del prossimo post.
Il microbiota viene sempre più spesso definito come superorganismo. Un termine molto utilizzato per descrivere le colonie di formiche e gli sciami delle api. Questa immagine, che mi è stata trasmessa da una lettura di pochi giorni fa, mi è servita per immaginare la ricca complessità che si è sviluppata, nel susseguirsi dei secoli, all'interno di quello che potrebbe essere l'anfratto più recondito della nostra psiche, e forse, proprio per questo, uno dei luoghi più delicati, dove regna un micromondo dall'equilibrio instabile.
