Pellegri a soli 16 anni, cercato molto dalla Juventus vola a Montecarlo per altre ragioni e firma un contratto a sei zeri.

Nell'ultimo giorno dell'addio al calcio di Totti, una parte della scena se l'era presa Pietro Pellegri.
Era il 28 maggio 2017, con soli 16 anni, e una rete segnata sul 3-2 per la Roma contro il Genoa diventava il più giovane giocatore della storia a segnare un gol in serie A.

L'atleta dichiara 3 reti in 9 presenze, ma lascia il campionato Italiano per cercare fortuna fuori, a Montecarlo, ora rimangonn solo le visite mediche e la firma sul contratto, dopodichè si metterà subito a disposizione di Leonardo Jardim allenatore del Monaco dovendo impegnarsi per conquistare un posto in squadra.
Dichiara che Monaco è il club ideale per giocare anche se sei una giovane scommessa e dato che la juve non lo riteneva non ha ritenuto opportuno prestare una offerta maggiore di 30 milioni per il giocatore.
Il Monaco si era preparato all'acquisto con la vendita ad una cifra elevata di Guido Carrillo al Southampton per 21 milioni.
Il Genoa ha inserito una clausola, dove incasserà il 10% sulla futura rivendita del giocatore se il Monaco venderà il giocatore Pellegri per più di 40 milioni.

Non ho avuto la possibilità di parlarci, sicuramente lo farò martedì prima dell'allenamento. So di essere il sedicenne più pagato nella storia del calcio, Non penso ai soldi, non mi interessano ancora, voglio giocare e pensare a divertirmi. Se mi avessero detto un anno fa che dalla Primavera del Genoa sarei passato al Monaco, avrei pensato a un sogno. Ringrazio il Genoa per quello che ha fatto ma ora devo andare, è arrivato il momento".
Il calcio italiano può solo sperare che diventi una stella per poi riversarsi un ottimmo giocatore nella nazionale italiana!
